Ukraine Address Format With Examples
Ukraine is located in Eastern Europe, on the north shore of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. It shares its borders with several countries like Belarus in the north, Russia in the East, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary in the West, and Romania and Moldova in the south. Ukraine Address Format Breakdown
Recipient Name
In the first line, start by writing the name of the recipient. If you are sending the mail to a business, the company’s name will come in the first line. Write the name of the person and their department in the second and third lines respectively. Add ATTN. in front of the person’s name If you want to ensure that the internal mail distribution system sends the mail to the right office and desk.

Street Address
In the second line, add the street name and house/building number for the residential and business addresses. Before the street name write Vul. or Ulica which is Ukrainian for street. Similarly, when writing the building number, add Kv. in front of it. In case of a PO Box, write А/Я (Ukrainian for Post Office Box), and then the box number.

Locality
Add the name locality, city, or town.

Postal Code
They are called “Poshtovyy Indeks” in Ukraine and are five-digit numbers.

Write the name of the country in the last line. If you are sending international mail to Ukraine, write the country name in capital letters.

Special Considerations to Write a Ukrainen Address
- Address Line Alignment: All the lines should be left aligned.
- Address Placement: Write the address on the bottom right-hand corner of the envelope.

Residential Address Format
Write the recipient’s name, street address, or PO box number, locality, postal code, and country name. Every address element will come in separate lines.

Rural Address Format
Typically, the streets in rural areas of Ukraine do not have a formal name. In this case, write the name of the village, followed by the nearest larger town. Add the rest of the address elements in the same way as the residential address.

International Address Format for NGOs and Organizations
Write the name of the organization in the first line and the specific department in the second line. Place all the other address components, except the recipient’s name, in the same way as the residential address.

In the residential address, instead of the street address, write the term “А/Я” and then the PO box number.

Military Address Format
The military address format follows the same structure as the residential address format except for the first two lines. In the first line, write the rank and full name of the person. In the second line write the military unit number.
