Write the full name of the recipient in the first line. You can add honorific titles like Har. for Mr, Mme. for Mrs, and Ms. In case you are sending the mail to a business, write the name of the company in the first line. Add the person’s name in the second line and their department in the third line. You can also add ATTN. in front of the person’s name to ensure the internal mail distribution system sends the mail to the right desk and office.

Building Number and Street Address

Write them in the same order mentioned above. When you are writing the street address, add an abbreviation form of the street type before it. Take, for instance, you can add Rue for a road or Bvld. for boulevard.

Postal Code and City or Town

Add the postal code and the name of the city/town in the same line in the order mentioned above. In Luxembourg, postal codes are called postleitzahlen and are four-digit numbers. Add the letter L in front of the postal code. This will ensure timely and accurate delivery. Some major cities in Luxembourg are Wilsh, Differedange, Dudelange, and Ettelbruck.

Country Name

Write the full country name in the last line. Remember that when sending international mail to Luxembourg, the country name will always be in capital letters.

Typically, the streets in rural areas do not have a formal name. In this case, write the name of the village in the second line, followed by the nearest larger town in the third line The rest of the address elements will remain in the same place as the residential address.

Business Address

Start with the name of the company in the first line, the person’s name in the second line, and their department in the third line. Add the rest of the address components in the same place as the residential address.

International Address for NGOs And Organizations

In the residential address, instead of the recipient’s name, write the name of the organization in the first line and the specific department in the second line. Place all the other address components in the same way as the residential address.

PO Box Address

In the residential address, instead of the street address, write the term “PO Box” and then the box number.

Military Address Format

Except for the first two lines, the military address format will be the same as the residential address format. Write the rank and full name of the person in the first line and the military unit number in the second line.

Government Office Address Format

Write the office or department name on the first line and second line respectively instead of the recipient’s name in the residential address.
