Poland Address Format With Examples

Poland, a Central European nation steeped in history and culture, is home to vibrant cities like Warsaw, Kraków, and Gdańsk, along with charming rural landscapes. With a population of over 38 million, Poland has a well-structured postal system designed to handle both domestic and international mail efficiently. As a member of the European Union, Poland follows a standardized addressing system. We have mentioned the address format for different types of addresses with examples, along with postal, country, and population information of Poland.

Poland Address Format Breakdown

Recipient Name

Begin with the recipient’s full name. If mailing to a business, include the company name above the recipient’s name or department.

OR

XYZ SPÓŁKA Z O.O.

DZIAŁ SPRZEDAŻY

ATTN: ANNA KOWALSKA

Street Address or PO Box (P.O. Box)

Write down the street name and house/building number for residential or business addresses. If your recipient relies on a Post Office Box, write “P.O. Box” and then mention the corresponding box number.

Example

Or

P.O. Box 457

Postal Code and City/Town

Poland relies on a five-digit postal code system in the format of XX-XXX. Put the postal code before the city or town name. Warsaw, Kraków, and Wrocław are some popular cities in Poland.

EXAMPLE

00-001 WARSZAWA

Or

30-001 KRAKÓW

Country Name

Write the country name in the last line. If you are sending international mail, always write the country name in capital letters.

Example

POLAND

Special Considerations to Write a Polish Address

  • Address Placement: Write the address on the bottom right corner of the envelope.
  • Address Line Alignment: The address lines should be left-aligned.
  • Language: Polish is the official language of Poland, every address must be written in Polish for domestic mail. However, English is acceptable for international mail.
  • Rural Addressing: Street names are less common in rural areas. It is recommended to use village names near larger towns to ensure successful deliveries.
  • Capitalization: For clarity and legibility write the whole address in the capital letter.

Postal Information

Poland’s postal system, known as Poczta Polska, was established in 1558 by King Sigismund II Augustus, marking the consolidation of various private courier services into a unified national entity. This initiative centralized mail delivery across the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, enhancing communication within the region.

Over the centuries, Poczta Polska has evolved, adapting to Poland’s shifting political landscapes and technological advancements. Today, it stands as the country’s primary mail and package delivery service, offering a comprehensive range of postal, banking, insurance, and logistics services to meet the diverse needs of its customers.

Our Customers Say It Best

We have been using PostGrid for a few months. It works with our CRM, the software interface, efficiency, automation, and integration with no issues. Their support team is quick with resolution and their web portal is easy to access and transparent in retrieving transactions and analyzing weekly & monthly sending limits.

Chief Technology Officer

This API has turned out to be a great asset. We started off with 4000 mailings for 3 months and never had any downtime. I requested an increase in the sending limits and it was given to me in 10 minutes! I also have used PostGrid to verify our mailing lists. It’s been great to us and customer support is very reliable.

Vice President Of Engineering

We wanted a low-cost, easy-to-understand, and easy-to-use direct mail platform. Finally, PostGrid took all my worries in terms of snail mail. The pricing is very reasonable! There is almost no delay in the SLA’s commitment, and it is exciting to watch automation in action. Easy to build and maintain the mailing lists of our patients. Not to forget, reports can be generated, and a block editor can be used too!

Director Of Operations

We were looking for a solution to outsource and automate our process of mailing welcome letters to our customers. Previously had 2 dedicated people printing the postage label, stamping it manually and stuffing the mail and dropping it off at the postal office. It was very inefficient and could have caused major compliance issues. PostGrid helped us eliminate the entire manual process with their automation and API solution, now sending all mails smoothly.

Director of IT and Operations

Very straightforward, fast, and reliable address standardization API. We collect address data from multiple patients, clinical records, and providers and attempt to combine them into one. Addresses are often redundant or formatted differently in this process, which is our biggest challenge. PostGrid makes it easy for us to solve both of these problems simply by appending PostGrid to our datasets.
