Czech Republic Address Format Breakdown
Recipient Name
Write the name of the recipient. You can add honorific titles such as Pane for Mr. and Pani for Mrs. If you are sending mail to a business, write the name of the company, followed by the person’s name and department in the second and third lines. If you want to make sure that the mail reaches the right desk and office, add ATTN. in front of the person’s name.
Example:
ALEXANDER JONOVICH
Or
ABC S.R.O
ATTN: ALEXANDER JONOVICH
FINANCE DEPARTMENT
Street Address
Write the street name and the house/building number. If the recipient uses a PO box, write “PO Box” and then the box number.
Example:
HAVELSKÁ
Or
PO BOX 45
Postal Code and City
Write them in the same order as mentioned above. The postal codes are called Poštovní směrovací číslo (PSC) in the Czech Republic and they are five digits long. Add a space between the third and fourth digits. Some of the major cities of the Czech Republic are Brno, Ostrava, Pizen, Liberec, Olomouc, and Karlovy Vary.
Example:
650 23 BRNO
Country Name
Write the name of the country in the last line. If you are sending an international mail, write the country name in capital letters.
Example
CZECH REPUBLIC
Special Considerations to Write a Czech Republic Address
- Address Placement: Write the address on the bottom right-hand corner of the envelope.
- Address Line Alignment: Align all the address lines to the left side.
- Punctuation: Do not add any punctuation between the address elements, even if they are two that share the same line. Take, for instance, a Czech Republic address format, the postal code and city will come in the same line without any punctuation.
- Street Address Component: The street address consists of two numbers, separated by a slash. The first number is a unique district-related building number and the second set of numbers is the street number.
- Locality Name: If you are adding a delivery post name and it is different from the locality name, then the locality name will appear on the line above the postcode.
