Recipient Name

Write the full name of the recipient in the first line. If you are sending mail to a business, write the company name in the first line, the person’s name in the second line, and their department in the third line. If you want to ensure that the mail lands at the right office and desk, write ATTN. in front of the person’s name.

Street Address

Write the name of the street and house/building number for the residential and business address. Write Ulitsa (Bulgarian for street) before the street name.  If the recipient has a PO box, write Post Box followed by the box number.

City or Town

Write the name of the town or city where the person lives. Some of the famous cities of Bulgaria are Sofia, Varna and Burgas.

Postal Code

They are four-digit codes and each city/town has its postal code. Write the postal code in this line.

Country Name

Write the name of the country in the last line. If you are sending international mail to Bulgaria, write the country name in capital letters.

Address Placement

Write the address at the bottom right-hand corner of the envelope. If you are adding a return address, write it on the upper left corner of the face of the envelope or back of the envelope.

Write the organization’s name in the first line and the department name in the second line. The rest of the format will be the same as the residential address.

PO Box Address Format

Replace the street address with the Post box, followed by the box number. The rest of the address elements will remain in the same place as the residential address.

Military Address Format

In Bulgaria, the military address format is written the same way as the civilian address format. However, it does include certain things. Write the rank and name of the person, followed by the military unit number, then the PO box number, postal code, city, and country.

Government Office Address Format

Write the name of the office or the department before the street address or PO box number.
